Unreal||Nick&Lea

nicholas-waldorf:

Nick looked at her curiously, “Hmm” he said before adding, “I wouldn’t say partly.. I think I only get this way with you.” Slowly but surely Nick knew he was opening himself up to Lea, letting her see more and more of the real him past the bravado and letting the walls he’d built around himself slowly begin to come down. He’d already told her he liked her, he held her hand when they went out, called her babe a mere couple of minutes before. Nick looked up at her and chuckled at her reaction feeling like her laugh was contagious. “Well guess what, we’re testing out your little theory on which is better right here, right now.” Nick was having a hard time understanding the menu, and as soon as her nickname slipped his lips he made sure to look at her face to see the reaction it got him. He saw her move her eyes back to the menu quickly and smirked, taking the movement as approval for what he called her. If he was wrong he was sure she’d make sure he knew. He paid attention when she moved her menu to the middle of the table for both of them to share so she could clear some things up for him. His eyes followed her fingers and nodded as she told him her favorite, “Okay, so we’ll get that then. I don’t suppose they have anything with chicken do they?” he asked her half jokingly. He stuck his fingers in the air and signaled the waitress over and telling her their order. As she walked away Nick leaned back in his chair and looked Lea over, “You look happier too” he told her and waited to see what she’d make of that.

She smiled brushing her hair back. “Thats sweet…” she said not looking him in the eye. She had to admit she was a little surprised by Nick’s sudden openness. Usually she couldn’t tell what was going on with him but now he was just putting it all on the table. It made her trust him more, they were both equally in this now and she liked that. She felt like she didn’t have to worry around him, the thought of embarrassing herself wasnt constantly weighing on her mind.Lea smiled when he laughed, she liked the sound and even better that she was the one making it happen.”I’m confident in my theory.” she said smiling. She tried her hardest to hide her expression but Lea was almost positive Nick saw her, she hoped that the dim lighting in the restaurant hid the blush threatening to creep on her cheeks. She watched as he looked over to the menu, she tried to keep her thoughts from wandering but it was hard, she just liked this moment. She liked the closeness and the ease between them. She smiled as he agreed to get her favorite, she was determined for Nick to like sushi. She watched the interaction between him and the waitress, her eyes followed him as he leaned back. She smirked at his comment. “Well thats a given, or atleast at I thought it was.” she shrugged. “I’m always happier when I spend time with you.”

Unreal||Nick&Lea

nicholas-waldorf:

“No problem” he responded. He watched her eyes roam his face and wondered what exactly it was she saw when she looked at him. Nick gave her a curious look by quickly knitting his eyebrows together then going back to normal. “What are you thinking?” he asked her. Secretly he hoped she didn’t mind him always asking that. Nick was curious, he wasn’t used to feeling like this, he wasn’t used to feelings at all so this was all brand new territory for him. “I get that it’s sushi and all of that, I know the whole college student’s lives revolve around either pizza or sushi myth. I’m just one of the ones who fall into the pizza category. I could be persuaded though” he told her suggestively and snuck a peak down at her from the corner of his eye. “You should always feel special, especially when you’re with me because I’ll make you feel amazing.” Nick let Lea lead the way and stopped suddenly the second they turned the corner as she pointed out a small and dimly lit restaurant. “Seems about right” he said and let her lead him inside. Once inside the place they told the waitress to give them a table for two and were each handed a menu with list upon list of rolls and dishes that they could choose from. Nick looked at the menu confusedly as he tried to make sense of what everything was. After about 2 minutes he gave up and lowered his menu, “I have no clue what to order” he admitted and pursed his lips slightly in concentration. “What do you recommend babe?” he asked her and then realized it was the first time he’d called her that.

She smiled at his remark,almost everything he said was sarcastic but not rude. She found it hilarious. Lea could see a glimmer of thought flash across his face as his eyebrows furrowed together, but only for a second. It went as quickly as it came. She was taken slight off guard by the question, not because it was intrusive, she had no problem answering but it just didn’t seem like something Nick would ask. It was different.”I am thinking…that I like the way you are tonight, you seem happier than usual and Id like to think that I’m partially responsible for that.” she nodded feeling pretty satisfied with her answer, she could never say things the way she wanted to him but she felt she was getting better at that. She laughed “Its not a myth its a very important part of the college experience, pizza is good but I think sushi might just a little better…only a little.” she said showing the size with her thumb and index finger. She nodded. “I’ve been told I’m pretty persuasive.” she said smirking  as he looked at her through his peripheral. She smiled but kept her eyes down as she spoke unsure of what she even wanted to say so she just nodded and kept her gaze directed downward. Once they were inside and seated Lea began looking over the menu. Most of the menu was written with the traditional Japanese names but Lea ate at lots of authentic restaurants and had learned which the majority of them were, some she was uncertain about but she had a decent understanding. She was pretty sure she had decided on what she wanted when Nick put down his menu. She tried to fight back a smile when she saw the serious look on his face. Butterflies rapidly appeared in her stomach as he called her by the pet name, she tried to keep the mixed look of shock and excitement off her face as her eyes quickly darted back to the menu, she placed it on the table between them. “Well this,” she said pointing “is probably my favorite, it comes in bigger pieces and its basically just tuna, vegetables and rice.” she said leaning back with a smile. “It really depends on how adventurous you’re feeling.”
